North Meadow pond treated to control algae on June 28th. NMHOA treated the pond with copper sulfate to control the algae throughout the pond. This algae was creating an unpleasant sight and smell issue. The recent rainstorm removed surface layer algae. To contain future growth this treatment plan was to make sure the re-growth is contained. We have researched various methods of algae control to include current treatment and the addition of grass carp. The current treatment should have a more immediate effect, as adding the grass carp will not yield immediate results.
We have marked the area around the pond that is must be cleaned up. The City of Andover is working with the NMHOA to give us time to properly clean up the property. We have been collecting bids this week and hope to have cleanup started in the first half of July.
